“It’s fair to say the last five years at Atlassian have been a wild ride, full of highs, challenges, and personal growth – not to mention almost doubling our headcount. I couldn’t be more excited to take the helm of our People Team that supports our 11,000 Atlassians (and growing!) across the 🌏,” said Prabhakar.

Career Highlights at Atlassian
Prabhakar joined Atlassian in July 2019 as Head of HR Partners for the Asia Pacific region. She swiftly rose through the ranks, becoming Senior Director, Head of HR Asia Pacific & Global M&A Lead in July 2020, and later Vice President in November 2021. As Vice President, she led a global team of HR Business Partners and Regional HR Partners, working closely with R&D leaders to shape the company’s talent strategy. In June 2023, she was appointed Senior Vice President and Global Head of Talent and HR, where she accelerated performance during Atlassian’s scaling phase and expanded the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. Her remit included driving efficiencies across talent and employee programs and overseeing a team of approximately 100 people.

In her new role as Chief People Officer, Prabhakar will oversee Atlassian’s global HR strategies, employee programs, and DEI initiatives. She will lead a team of HR Business Partners, Employment Relations, Talent, M&A, and DEI professionals, ensuring that HR goals align with Atlassian’s broader business strategies.

Prior to Fuji Xerox Australia, Prabhakar spent eight years at British Airways in various HR leadership roles. As HR Manager for South Asia, she worked closely with leadership teams to execute people strategies, manage change projects, and support organizational changes like mergers and acquisitions. She later became HR Manager for Asia Pacific, Middle East & Central Asia, leading a team of international HR professionals across the region. Her work involved driving HR transformation projects and partnering on key organizational changes while managing employee unions in countries like Singapore, Japan, Australia, and India.
