Chicago, Illinois, USA — Nicholas Piechocinski has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources, supporting W.R. Berkley companies Vela Insurance Services, Berkley Select, and Berkley Integrated Solutions. With over 10 years of experience at Vela Insurance Services, Piechocinski is well-positioned to lead HR initiatives across these organizations.

Piechocinski’s journey at Vela began in 2013 as a Staff Trainer & HR Generalist. He quickly moved up the ranks, assuming roles of increasing responsibility. In June 2017, he was promoted to Training and Development Manager/HRBP, where he managed employee training and development while serving as an HR Business Partner.
In October 2018, he advanced to Human Resources Manager, supporting various W.R. Berkley companies, including Vela Insurance Services, Berkley Select, and Berkley Re Solutions. By June 2022, he had earned the position of Director, Human Resources, leading HR strategies for Vela and other Berkley entities, notably Berkley Program Specialists and Berkley Equine & Cattle.
In his new role as Vice President, Piechocinski will continue to drive HR excellence by aligning HR goals with broader business strategies, supporting multiple W.R. Berkley companies, and fostering a culture of growth and development.
