Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, March 2026 – Hindalco Industries Limited, the metals flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has announced that B Mukherjee has taken on an expanded leadership role as Joint President & Head HR (Mining & Minerals Business).
Mukherjee has been associated with the Aditya Birla Group for more than two decades and has played a pivotal role in strengthening HR strategy across multiple business units. Prior to this elevation, he served as Senior Vice President & Head HR – Mining & Minerals Business at Hindalco Industries Limited, where he led strategic human resource planning, employee engagement initiatives, and people development programs supporting large-scale mining and industrial operations.
Earlier in his tenure at Hindalco Industries Limited, Mukherjee served as Senior Vice President & Head Human Resources and previously as Vice President & Head Human Resources, contributing to workforce transformation and organizational development across the company’s operations in Singrauli and other locations.
Before returning to Hindalco’s Mining & Minerals Business leadership role, Mukherjee also served with Grasim Industries Limited (Aditya Birla Group) in the CFI Business, where he held positions including Vice President & Head Human Resources and Assistant Vice President & Head Human Resources, driving HR strategy and capability development initiatives.
Mukherjee’s earlier career within the Aditya Birla Group includes roles such as General Manager HR & Cluster Head HRD, Assistant General Manager & Head HR – Mumbai Region, Manager HR, and Assistant Manager HR at Hindalco Industries Limited, where he gained extensive experience in HR leadership across manufacturing and mining operations. He began his professional journey with Exide Industries Limited, where he served in roles including Senior Officer HR, Assistant Manager HR, and Management Trainee – Human Resources.
Mukherjee holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Development (HR Major & Systems Minor) from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, one of India’s leading institutes for HR education.
