Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, December 2024 – Balasubramanian Iyer has been named the Head of Human Resources (India and South Asia) at Cytiva. In this role, he will oversee HR operations across Commercial, R&D, Manufacturing, Corporate Functions, and the Capability Centre. As a member of Cytiva India’s Board of Directors, he will contribute to strategic decisions while leading a team of HR professionals to enhance the associate experience and support organizational goals.
Before joining Cytiva, Balasubramanian Iyer held key HR roles at Google, including Business HR (APAC) and People Consultant (APAC) for the Consumer Technology and Hardware divisions. During his tenure, he focused on HR program management and strategic people consulting for some of Google’s core teams.
Prior to Google, Balasubramanian served at NIVEA India, where he held multiple roles over six years, including Associate Director – Talent, Organization Development and HRBP Corporate Functions. He led COEs in talent management, organizational development, and HR business partnership for key corporate functions.
His earlier career includes time at HSBC, where he was Associate Vice President – HR Relationship, managing HR strategy for Retail Assets and Wealth Management. He also gained consultancy experience at Aon Hewitt, specializing in compensation benchmarking, sales incentive design, and rewards strategy.
Balasubramanian began his HR journey as a Management Trainee at PepsiCo, where he worked on HR initiatives for the sales and plant workforce. His academic foundation includes a PGD in Human Resource Management from XLRI Jamshedpur and a B-Tech in Electrical Engineering from VJTI Mumbai.
