Ajay believes reflection and resolution are key tools to understand challenges and lead transformative growth. His Reflections on 2024 and Resolutions for 2025 are a roadmap for HR professionals aiming to redefine workplace engagement and inclusivity.
Reflections on 2024:
“More money is no longer the #1 factor to keep talent glued to the organization. The tech literate talent is aspiring for dignified workplaces….. more respect, more autonomy, more inclusivity, more accountability.
Retention and engagement of talent are extremely important to create a sustainable organization. Talent retention is the new success mantra which is superseding talent acquisition. Organizations are bleeding due to constant talent churn for which organizational culture and managers are to be blamed.
Employee engagement has always remained a top priority for business leaders but current employee engagement is restricted to a couple of event celebrations…Real employee engagement must include forums for employees to reflect candidly and authentic communication.
Respect in the workplace, an engaging work environment, and open & candid communication without fear of losing job are some of the attributes in the workplace that everyone is looking for irrespective of age, experience, position, or proximity.”
“Talent retention is the new success mantra, surpassing talent acquisition. Respect, engagement, and authentic communication are the workplace attributes everyone seeks.”
Resolutions for 2025:
“HR will lead transformation not only by creating core HR processes but also by maximizing performance through engaged employees and creating a future-ready organization. This will involve investing in processes such as redefining competencies, fostering a culture of performance & personal accountability, prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), enhancing employee experience, improving social connections with employees, driving HR digitization for operational ease, and investing in upskilling employees to prepare them for the future.
Many organizations have set targets of 10-20% for diversity hiring which reflects patriarchal thinking. Instead, we should aim for a more equitable target of 50% representation of females in the workplace. This will not only uplift the social and financial status of families but also directly contribute to GDP growth & per capita income.
Investing in incubation centers to develop a young workforce and make them ready for employment is essential for creating a sustainable economy.
We must embrace the “risk and reward principle” and overcome the fear of failure to drive growth and innovation.
The future of HR in 2025 is full of possibilities, driven by technology adoption and transformation, a focus on enhancing talent initiatives, prioritizing employee experience, and creating inclusive and flexible workplaces.”
“We must aim for 50% female representation in the workplace—not as a target, but as a step towards economic and social transformation.”
Ajay Srivastava’s reflections on 2024 emphasize the urgent need for organizations to move beyond surface-level engagement and cultivate authentic workplace cultures rooted in respect, inclusivity, and accountability. Looking ahead, his 2025 resolutions call for a bold transformation driven by diversity, innovation, and technology. By prioritizing employee experience, redefining competencies, and aiming for equitable representation in the workplace, Ajay envisions a future where HR is a catalyst for both organizational success and social impact. His vision serves as an inspiration for HR leaders to embrace change and unlock the full potential of their workforce.
