Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, December 2025 – Basant Jain has taken on a new leadership role as Joint Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at Bhilwara Energy Limited (BEL). In this role, he will lead BEL’s strategic growth, renewable and conventional power portfolio expansion, and long-term sustainability initiatives across India.
In his current role at Bhilwara Energy Limited, Basant is leading the company’s overall strategy, clean-energy investments, and power portfolio expansion across hydro, wind, and energy storage segments.
Prior to this appointment, he founded Aplos Ventures Private Limited, where he has been focusing on clean-energy advisory, venture building, and strategic investments.
Earlier, Basant spent over a decade with Mahindra Susten Private Limited as Chief Executive Officer, where he played a pivotal role in building one of India’s leading renewable energy platforms, executing over 1000 MW of solar projects across utility-scale, rooftop, and telecom infrastructure segments, and positioning Mahindra Susten as a major cleantech player within the Mahindra Group.
He began his professional journey with Vedanta Resources as Manager, gaining early exposure to large-scale industrial and resource businesses.
Basant holds a PGDBA-CFA in Finance from ICFAI Business School.
