Hartford, Connecticut, United States, June 2024 – Bethany O’Brien has been appointed as the new VP Talent and Leadership Development at Empower. Bethany brings extensive experience in strategic HR and leadership development to her new role, where she will focus on enhancing talent management and leadership initiatives across the organization.
Bethany has been with Empower for approximately 1 year and 10 months. Before her promotion to VP Talent and Leadership Development, she served as the Sr. HR Business Partner, where she collaborated with senior leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives, facilitated workforce planning discussions, and advocated for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Prior to Empower, Bethany worked at MassMutual Financial Group for about 8 years as a Sr. HR Business Partner, partnering with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies, managing people practices, and leading organizational effectiveness measures.
Bethany also served as an HR Business Partner at Sleepy’s, The Mattress Professionals for around 3 years and 4 months, supporting the Northern Sales Division and four distribution centers, facilitating orientations, and managing talent and succession planning.
Earlier in her career, Bethany was a Recruiting Specialist at First Investors Corporation for approximately 1 year and 9 months, where she represented the company as the primary college campus recruiter, forging partnerships and planning recruiting events with various universities.
