Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 — Lupin has appointed Bijender Vats as Senior Vice President & Head – Human Resources. In this role, he will lead the company’s human resources strategy, driving talent management, leadership development, organizational transformation, and people initiatives that support Lupin’s continued growth as a global pharmaceutical leader.
Bijender brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and life sciences sectors. Recognized for building high-performing organizations and aligning people strategy with business priorities, he has developed deep expertise in strategic human resources, organizational development, talent management, diversity, equity & inclusion (DE&I), and HR transformation.
Prior to joining Lupin, Bijender served as HR Head – India & South West Asia at FMC Corporation, where he led the regional people strategy, partnering with business leaders to strengthen organizational capability, talent development, and workforce effectiveness across the region.
Earlier, he was Group Chief Human Resources Officer at Crystal Crop Protection Limited, where he led the company’s global HR and administration functions, driving people initiatives that supported business expansion, leadership capability, and organizational effectiveness.
A significant part of his career was spent at MSD, where he served for over 17 years in progressively senior HR leadership roles. His tenure culminated as Director – HR & DE&I Lead, India Region, following earlier positions as Director – Human Resources, Associate Director – Human Resources, and Human Resources Business Partner. During this period, he played a key role in advancing strategic HR initiatives, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and organizational transformation across the India business.
Before transitioning into human resources leadership, Bijender held commercial leadership positions at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories as Regional Manager, Novartis as Area Manager, and Cipla as Marketing Executive, giving him valuable frontline business experience that continues to inform his people-first leadership approach.
Bijender holds an MBA in Human Resources from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) and is also an alumnus of Maharshi Dayanand University, combining strong academic credentials with extensive industry experience.
