Pasay, National Capital Region, Philippines, June 2024 – Blezilda Ordas has joined SM Retail as the new Vice President, HR – Training and Development. In this role, Blezilda will oversee training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and drive organizational growth.
Prior to joining SM Retail, Blezilda was the Executive Director, HR (Head of People SG & PH & Location HR for APAC Hub) at GroupM from January 2023 to May 2024. During her tenure, she led HR operations in Singapore and the Philippines, focusing on strategic HR initiatives and driving regional HR projects.
Before her role at GroupM, Blezilda spent over eleven years at adidas in various HR positions. As the Senior Manager, HR, Global Functions, APAC from May 2021 to December 2022, she managed HR operations for global functions across the APAC region. Prior to that, she served as the Country Human Resources Manager from August 2019 to May 2021, and HR Business Partner from January 2017 to August 2019, both roles based in Singapore and Germany. Blezilda’s earlier tenure at adidas also included serving as a Senior Manager, HR in Bonifacio Global City from December 2011 to January 2017, where she played a key role in various HR functions.
Blezilda’s career began with SM Retail as a Senior HR Manager from April 2009 to November 2011. In this role, she reported to the Vice President for HR-Retail Affiliates and VP-Non Fashion Merchandising, handling compensation and benefits, recruitment, timekeeping, labor relations, performance management, and learning and development. She also conducted branch audits and monitored store operation metrics to maintain branch-level efficiency.
Prior to SM Retail, Blezilda worked at Toyota Financial Services Corporation as an HR Specialist from September 2005 to April 2009, where she was responsible for sourcing and recruitment, induction of new employees, benefits administration, and timekeeping. She also assisted the Kaizen Champion in conducting training sessions.
Her earlier experience includes working as an HR Associate at Smart Communications, Inc. from June 2004 to August 2005, where she administered company and government-mandated benefits for the Customer Interfacing Group account. Blezilda began her HR career at BankWise as a Human Resources Officer from July 1999 to June 2004, based in Metro Manila.
