In this leadership role, Brian will spearhead the company’s talent acquisition strategies, leveraging his extensive HR experience to connect leading organizations with top-tier talent across revenue, operations, and creative disciplines.
Brian Bustillos brings over two decades of experience in human resources, talent management, and organizational leadership across globally recognized brands in the retail and lifestyle sectors. Known for his ability to align people strategies with business goals, Brian has built a reputation for driving engagement, fostering innovation, and strengthening company culture.
Prior to joining Gamechangers, Brian served as Head of People, North America at Rip Curl and KMD Brands Limited (which includes Rip Curl, Oboz, and Kathmandu). In this role, he oversaw people operations across the North American region, leading strategic HR initiatives that enhanced employee engagement and operational performance.
Before his tenure at KMD Brands, Brian spent nearly five years at Boardriders, where he held multiple senior HR roles, including Senior Director, HR Business Partner and Human Resources Director. He was instrumental in overseeing HR functions for globally loved brands such as Billabong, Quiksilver, RVCA, Element, and VonZipper, guiding transformation during a period of significant industry change.
Earlier in his career, Brian built an impressive 19-year journey with Quiksilver, where he rose through the ranks from HR Generalist to Director of Human Resources. He managed HR operations for key brands including Quiksilver, DC Shoes, and Roxy, implementing innovative HR programs to support global retail expansion and employee development. His foundational HR experience began with Cendant Mobility, where he managed early-stage employee relations and HR compliance.
Through his extensive experience in lifestyle, sportswear, and consumer goods, Brian has developed a deep understanding of building dynamic, purpose-driven teams that fuel business growth and creativity.
