Michael Leiters appointed Chief Executive Officer of Porsche AG

Stuttgart, Germany, October 2025 — Porsche AG has announced the appointment of Michael Leiters as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking his return to the brand where his distinguished automotive career began. With an extensive background spanning leadership roles at McLaren Automotive, Ferrari, and Porsche, Leiters brings over two decades of experience in luxury performance engineering, innovation, and strategic management to one of the world’s most iconic automotive companies.

Before rejoining Porsche, Michael Leiters served as Chief Executive Officer at McLaren Automotive Ltd, where he advanced the company’s hybrid technology roadmap, led the transformation of its luxury performance portfolio, and strengthened McLaren’s position in the global supercar market. His leadership was instrumental in integrating cutting-edge technology with sustainable performance strategies.

Prior to McLaren, Leiters was Chief Technology Officer at Ferrari, where he oversaw product innovation and engineering excellence across Ferrari’s high-performance lineup, playing a key role in shaping the brand’s technological evolution.

Leiters’ connection with Porsche runs deep—he previously held several key positions within Porsche AG, including Product Line Director and Project Manager for the Cayenne and Cayenne Hybrid, contributing significantly to Porsche’s success in the luxury SUV segment. He began his professional journey at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) in Aachen, focusing on engineering, production, and organizational development.

As he steps into the CEO role, Michael Leiters is expected to build upon Porsche’s legacy of innovation and performance while accelerating its transition toward electrification, sustainability, and digital transformation. His appointment symbolizes a blend of continuity and forward-thinking leadership for Porsche’s next chapter.

About Porsche AG
The philosophy of Porsche AG is best captured in the words of its founder, Ferry Porsche: “In the beginning I looked around and could not find quite the car I dreamed of. So I decided to build it myself.” For more than 75 years, Porsche has embodied a spirit of innovation, courage, and craftsmanship, redefining performance and driving experiences worldwide. Guided by the belief in the power of dreams, Porsche continues to develop world-class vehicles that merge engineering precision with emotional appeal, inspiring generations to think beyond convention and pursue excellence.
