Pune, Maharashtra – In a significant leadership transition, Bridgestone India, a key player in the global tyre and sustainable mobility solutions sector, has welcomed Mr Hiroshi Yoshizane as its new Managing Director. He takes over the reins from Mr. Stefano Sanchini, who is set to embark on a new journey as the Vice President of Consumer Replacement for Europe.
Mr. Yoshizane joins Bridgestone India after a successful stint at Bridgestone Japan, where he held several leadership roles, most recently serving as the Executive Vice President of Solution Business, Retail & Service Business in Bridgestone Tire Solution Japan Co., Ltd. His extensive experience within the Bridgestone family positions him well to steer Bridgestone India through its next phase of growth and innovation.
This appointment aligns with Bridgestone Corporation’s strategic realignment, integrating India into the Bridgestone East, forming one strategic business unit (SBU) – Asia Pacific, India, and China (BSAPIC). This reorganization reflects the similar consumer sentiments and market synergies across these regions, aiming to leverage Bridgestone’s strengths to develop these vital markets further.
“India represents a dynamic and evolving market, full of growth potential and unique opportunities, particularly in the automotive sector,” remarked Mr Yoshizane. “I am excited to collaborate with our partners and the Bridgestone team to deliver exceptional value to our customers, vehicle manufacturers, and communities at large.”
Reflecting on his tenure in India, Mr Stefano Sanchini expressed gratitude for the learning experience and support. “The diversity and complexity of the Indian market are unparalleled, and the insights gained here will be invaluable in my new role,” he stated. Under his leadership since January 2023, Bridgestone India has achieved significant milestones, including producing the hundredth million tyres at its Indore plant and attaining carbon neutrality at its Pune facility.
Mr Sanchini’s successor, Mr Yoshizane, inherits a legacy of success and innovation, with Bridgestone India poised for continued growth. As the automotive sector in India gears up for major technological advancements, Bridgestone India, under Mr Yoshizane’s leadership, is ready to optimize every opportunity in 2024 and beyond, reinforcing its commitment to serving society with superior-quality mobility solutions.
