Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2024 – Capt Vinayak Herlekar has been named Chief People and Revenue at Modern Veer Rays Security Force (India) Pvt Ltd, stepping into his new role this month. Vinayak’s extensive experience in human resources and strategic leadership positions him well to lead the company’s people and revenue initiatives.
Vinayak has been with Modern Veer Rays Security Force (India) Pvt Ltd for nearly seven years. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President Human Resource for six years and ten months. In this role, he was part of the senior leadership team, supporting the Board of Directors in achieving organizational goals. He played a key role in supporting the 3X revenue growth and 2X manpower growth, reducing the revenue to manpower cost by 13%, and expanding the company’s locations from 40 to 75 branches. Vinayak also overhauled and optimized the HR structure, processes, and technology, overseeing talent acquisition, management, compensation, payroll, performance management, learning and development, and employee engagement through a workforce of approximately 70 HR professionals.
Before joining Modern Veer Rays, Vinayak co-founded Panache Globe Solutions/Esvee Consultants, where he served as Director for two years. He developed the company’s vision, mission statement, and strategic plan, pursued networking events to increase brand awareness, identified market trends and opportunities for growth, and established relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
Prior to that, Vinayak worked at Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Limited as Zonal Head – HR (West) for nearly five years. In this role, he aligned HR strategies with business goals and managed HR operations for the West Zone with a revenue of INR 350 Cr per annum and a workforce of over 1000 personnel. He managed manpower planning, facilitated induction programs, conducted performance reviews and training need analysis, and led employee communication and engagement activities.
Vinayak also held the position of Regional Head – HR at Aviva India Life Insurance Company Ltd. for two years and seven months, where he partnered with business leaders in the West Region, monitored employee performance, and managed a team of over 10 employees. He has also worked at Reliance Retail and Bajaj Electricals Ltd in various HR roles, gaining extensive experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, communication, and performance management.
Earlier in his career, Vinayak served as a Captain in the Indian Army for five years. Graduating from the prestigious Officer’s Training Academy in Chennai, he was commissioned in the Regiment of Artillery. He quickly rose to the position of Adjutant of the Regiment, commanding and effectively leading a team of 350 personnel in challenging environments. His military experience honed his leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills, which he has effectively translated into his corporate roles.
