In this role, Caroline will lead the airline’s communications and marketing strategies, overseeing brand positioning, customer engagement, and corporate messaging to enhance American Airlines’ global reputation and reach.
Caroline Clayton has been with American Airlines for over a decade, contributing to the airline’s corporate communications and marketing evolution. Before stepping into her new role, she served as Vice President of Communications and Marketing, where she played a crucial role in shaping the airline’s brand narrative, internal communications, and strategic messaging. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Corporate Communications, leading crisis management, executive communications, and media relations efforts.
Earlier in her career at American Airlines, Caroline held several key leadership positions, including Managing Director, Global Communications, where she was instrumental in enhancing global public relations strategies and corporate storytelling. She also served as Director of Corporate Communications, strengthening the airline’s external and internal communication frameworks.
Before joining American Airlines, Caroline gained valuable experience at Weber Shandwick, where she spent nearly seven years in leadership roles, including Vice President and Group Manager. Her expertise in public relations, crisis management, and strategic communications was further developed in early career roles at HarperCollins Publishers and Miramax, where she worked closely with executives in the publishing and entertainment industries.
