Toronto, Ontario, Canada, February 2026 — Apotex Inc. has announced the appointment of Catherine Thomas as Vice President, Global Communications. In her new leadership role, Catherine will be responsible for shaping and strengthening Apotex’s global communications agenda—supporting the company’s mission of expanding access to affordable and innovative medicines and health products worldwide.
With over a decade of senior communications leadership across major consumer and corporate brands, Catherine brings strong expertise in external communications, reputation management, and strategic storytelling, making her appointment a timely addition to Apotex’s leadership team as the organization continues to grow its global impact.
Prior to joining Apotex Inc., Catherine Thomas spent over 11 years at Loblaw Companies Limited, where she held a progressive set of senior communications leadership roles. Over her tenure, she served as Vice President, Communication, as well as Senior Director, External Communication, and Director, External Communication, playing a key role in shaping external messaging, media engagement, and corporate reputation for one of Canada’s most visible consumer-facing organizations.
Before Loblaw, Catherine worked with Veritas Communications, where she served as Account Director and earlier as Senior Account Manager and Senior Consultant, building deep agency-side expertise in strategic communications, client advisory, stakeholder engagement, and campaign execution across diverse sectors.
Earlier in her career, she was associated with Food & Consumer Products of Canada as a Communications Advisor, where she supported communications work across the food and consumer products ecosystem—strengthening her grounding in industry communications and policy-influenced stakeholder environments.
Catherine holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Communications from Seneca Polytechnic.
