With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the automotive industry, Sujan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. His most recent role was with Ashok Leyland, where he served as Head of South Asia and Project Exports. Sujan’s extensive expertise and strategic vision make him an excellent fit for Chaudhary Group, and his leadership will be instrumental in driving the global expansion of CG Motors.
Sujan Roy joins Chaudhary Group from Ashok Leyland, where he was Head of South Asia and Project Exports for about 3 years. In this role, he directed sales, service, parts, business development, and strategy, achieving significant market share growth in key markets and elevating Ashok Leyland to the top position in Bangladesh with a 38% market share. Prior to that, he spent nearly 10 years at Tata Motors, holding various leadership roles, including Head of International Business, Passenger Vehicles, and Head of Marketing for Electric Vehicles. Sujan was instrumental in turning around Tata’s export business unit to EBITDA positive, managing a profitable business with a turnover of over Rs. 400 Crores.
Earlier in his career, Sujan worked with Volkswagen India as GM/Head of Product Marketing & Product Training for over 3 years, leading the product line-up to unprecedented sales heights. He also held significant roles at Honda Motor India Pvt. Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd, and Saud Bahwan Group LLC, where he managed marketing communication and product planning for Lexus. Sujan began his career at Tata Motors as Sales Officer/EA to GM (Sales).
