Chirag Shah Appointed as Chief People Officer at Adani Ports & Logistics Business

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, October 2024 – Chirag Shah has been promoted to Chief People Officer (CPO) at Adani Ports & Logistics Business, a pivotal role where he will oversee and shape the organization’s human capital strategies. His focus will be on aligning the talent management framework with the long-term business goals of the company, ensuring that Adani Ports remains at the forefront of innovation, growth, and sustainability. As CPO, Chirag will drive initiatives that prioritize employee engagement, leadership development, and inclusivity, helping the company thrive in a competitive landscape.

Before his promotion, Chirag Shah held the position of Associate Vice President – Human Resources at Adani Power for five months, where he was responsible for HR strategy, digital transformation, and talent management. His leadership in areas like performance management, employee engagement, and mergers and acquisitions set the foundation for his current promotion within the Adani Group.

Prior to that, he served as the Global Head of HR for Adani Harbour Services Ltd., a subsidiary of Adani Ports, for over two years, leading HR operations across Navi Mumbai and Dubai. During his tenure, Chirag oversaw HR strategy formulation, talent acquisition, and leadership development, making significant contributions to the company’s growth and employee engagement strategies.

From 2014 to 2021, Chirag worked as Associate General Manager – HR Head at Adani Ports and SEZ, where he managed HR for the company’s ports in Goa, Vizag, Vizhinjam, and Myanmar. He spearheaded initiatives in performance management, rewards, compensation, and benefits, playing a key role in mergers and acquisitions and ensuring smooth HR integration during such transitions.

Earlier in his career, Chirag was Senior Manager – HR Business Partner and Internal Communication at Adani Ports, where he focused on talent acquisition and employee engagement for over four years. He also served as a key member of the team handling HR communications and internal operations.

Chirag’s career began with stints at Reliance Industries and Pantaloon Retail, where he gained foundational experience in talent acquisition, learning and development, and performance management.
