Singapore, September 2025 – Protectera has announced the appointment of Chris Mawer as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, he will lead the strategic expansion of the company’s cloud, infrastructure, and security services across the Asia Pacific region. His focus will be on shaping the future of technology operations by developing the next-generation platform for cloud automation, data protection, and cybersecurity.
Most recently, Chris served as Chief Digital Officer at Huawei, where he aligned digital transformation initiatives with business strategy across Asia Pacific. Previously, as Chief Technology Officer at Huawei for six years, he spearheaded innovation in AI, cloud, data analytics, and connectivity, pioneering digital transformation projects in the banking, finance, and telecoms sectors while mentoring teams and driving strategic execution.
Alongside his corporate career, Chris has been the Co-Founder and Board Advisor at ICG International since 2017, building platforms such as CxO.me to mentor the next generation of technology leaders and scaling IT.day events as premier summits for knowledge sharing and executive collaboration.
Earlier in his career, Chris held leadership roles at Red Hat as Principal Product Marketing Manager in the APAC CTO Office, where he guided adoption of cloud and container technologies; at Riverbed Technology as Principal Solutions Architect, where he advanced SD-WAN and emerging technologies; and at Dell EMC, where he drove product marketing and systems engineering excellence across Asia Pacific.
Chris’s career also includes technology leadership roles at Content Security, Loop Technology, and Hitachi Data Systems, where he gained deep expertise in enterprise systems engineering, infrastructure, and information security. He began his professional journey as an Independent Consultant at Cawer Technologies, which he founded while still in school, reflecting his long-standing entrepreneurial drive and passion for technology.
