Prestwich, England, United Kingdom – October 2024 – Claus Madsen has taken on the role of Chief People Officer at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Claus will be instrumental in driving the Trust’s people strategies, fostering a positive organizational culture, and enhancing workforce engagement to support the mental health services provided across Greater Manchester.
Claus was previously the Chief People Officer at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust for nearly 2 years, where he led efforts to enhance HR functions, cultural development, and leadership strategies. He also played a key role as the Chair of CALNAS – Culture and Leadership Network for Ambulance Services, promoting leadership development across the UK’s ambulance services over a period of 4 years.
Before joining Wirral, Claus served as the Associate Director of Education and Organisational Development at Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust for over 6 years. His responsibilities included overseeing the YAS Academy, leadership and OD initiatives, and implementing the NHS People Strategy.
Claus held senior roles at Business College Syd, including Deputy CEO and Head of Education, where he managed national educational development programs and adult vocational training. Additionally, he founded and led Learning-Impact, a consultancy focused on leadership and organizational development across both public and private sectors.
Earlier in his career, Claus worked as a Senior HR Director at Danfoss, where he managed global HR education and leadership programs, followed by roles in educational leadership and development at Esbjerg Kommune and Kirkebakkeskolen, a public school in Denmark.
