Greater London, United Kingdom, January 2026 — Control Risks has appointed David Rapley as its Global Head of Reward, further strengthening its people and reward leadership as the firm continues to support clients across complex global risk environments.
In his new role, David Rapley will lead Control Risks’ global reward strategy, overseeing compensation, incentives, benefits, mobility, governance, and reward operations across international markets. He will work closely with senior leadership to ensure competitive, compliant, and future-ready reward frameworks aligned with organisational strategy and growth ambitions.
Prior to joining Control Risks, David served as Human Resources Director, Reward at William Grant & Sons, where he led the global Reward Centre of Excellence across more than 30 markets and a workforce of around 3,000 employees. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, he partnered closely with the Remuneration Committee and Executive Board, driving standardised global reward processes, annual compensation cycles, incentive design, benefits governance, pensions, wellbeing, recognition, and global mobility.
Before this, David held the role of Head of Rewards at South Pole, where he delivered strategic reward roadmaps covering job architecture, benchmarking, grading structures, and remuneration committee support.
David spent over a decade with Qatargas (now QatarEnergy LNG), where he most recently served as Head of Compensation and Policy. In this capacity, he led global reward, job evaluation, HR policy, and mobility frameworks for one of the world’s largest LNG producers, supporting a workforce of 6,000–10,000 employees and managing large, multi-country expatriate and contractor populations.
Earlier in his career, David built strong HR generalist and reward foundations through roles at BAE Systems, Subsea 7, Robert Gordon University, and Talisman Energy.
With extensive international experience across reward strategy, governance, executive remuneration, and global mobility, David Rapley brings deep expertise in aligning reward frameworks with business strategy in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments.
