Dan Nordlander Takes on Role as SVP & CFO of Banking Segment at FIS

Nordlander brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the financial sector, having accumulated more than two decades of leadership in finance and operations.

Prior to joining FIS, Nordlander played a critical role at Western Union, where he served as the Senior Vice President of Global FP&A from 2022 to 2024. In this position, based in Denver, Colorado, he led the global FP&A organization and was responsible for the financial planning and analysis of three major regional operating units generating over $3 billion in revenue. He was also a strategic business partner to C-level executives, providing crucial financial insights and supporting significant business decisions.

From 2020 to 2022, Nordlander was the Senior Vice President of People Operations & People Strategy at Western Union. He was selected by the CEO and CHRO to create a new Workforce Strategy and People Operations function, aimed at enhancing efficiency and cost management across a substantial expense category.

His earlier tenure as the Senior Vice President of the Transformation Office and Special Advisor to the CEO from 2017 to 2020 at Western Union saw him leading the largest transformation and restructuring effort in the company’s history, which resulted in significant cost savings and operational improvements.

Before his transformative roles at Western Union, Nordlander managed regional fiscal operations as the CFO for the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific regions from 2013 to 2017. This role involved extensive financial oversight and strategic financial planning across diverse markets, bolstering his international experience and expertise in global business operations.
