Uppingham, England, United Kingdom, September 2025 – Duckhams Oils has appointed David McLean as its new Chief Marketing Officer. In this role, he will drive global marketing strategies, strengthen customer engagement, and build on Duckhams’ iconic heritage to expand its presence across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Most recently, David served as Senior Consultant at WLP, where he supported SMEs and large businesses in negotiation optimisation, sales strategy, shopper and consumer insights, and category management. He also founded and led Axiom Consultancy Ltd for four years, providing strategic marketing and business solutions to clients across FMCG and industrial sectors.
Earlier, David spent nearly a decade at Castrol, where he held senior roles including Retail Category Manager, National Key Account Manager, and Global Key Account Manager. His contributions focused on business insights, category management, and strategic sales leadership, enabling significant growth in competitive markets.
David also held leadership positions at Britvic Soft Drinks as Category Manager, at Camelot Group as Customer Business Manager, and at HJ Heinz as both National Account Manager and Trade Category Manager. He began his consulting career with Bridgethorne, gaining expertise in trade marketing and category management.
In addition to his corporate career, David has been actively involved in governance, currently serving as a School Governor at David Ross Education Trust, reflecting his commitment to community leadership.
