Ghana, August 2024 – David Wilson has taken on the role of Head of Human Resources and Administration at Golden Star Resources Ltd., overseeing mine operations and corporate office functions. In this capacity, David will lead strategic HR initiatives and administrative operations to support the company’s goals and ensure effective workforce management.
David Wilson is now serving as the Head of Human Resources and Administration at Golden Star Resources Ltd., based in Ghana. He is responsible for overseeing the HR and administrative functions across the company’s mine operations and corporate office.
Prior to joining Golden Star Resources Ltd., David served as the Committee Chairman for the HR ad hoc committee at The Ghana Chamber of Mines, where he worked on formulating a mental health policy for the mining industry in Ghana.
David also held the position of Regional Human Resources Manager at Asante Gold, where he managed compensation, industrial relations, and HR information systems. Before that, he was the Head of Human Resources at Kinross Gold Corporation in Ghana, leading employee engagement and leadership development initiatives.
Earlier in his career, David was the Head of Human Resources for Anglophone West Africa at SGS, overseeing HR functions and technical staffing services in Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. He also served as a Site HR Officer/Training & Development Specialist at Mantrac Ghana Limited, working at various mine sites including Newmont Ahafo and Newmont Akyem.
