Singapore, July 2026 — Accenture has appointed Dr. David R. Hardoon as Managing Director & Head, Advanced AI, Southeast Asia, reinforcing its leadership in enterprise artificial intelligence across the region. In his new role, Dr. Hardoon will lead Accenture’s Advanced AI practice, driving strategy, innovation, and the deployment of enterprise-scale generative AI, agentic AI, and responsible AI solutions across industries throughout Southeast Asia.
Dr. Hardoon is a globally recognized artificial intelligence and machine learning leader with more than two decades of experience spanning financial services, consulting, academia, and technology. Holding a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the University of Southampton, he has built an exceptional career at the intersection of AI strategy, data science, digital transformation, and responsible AI governance.
Prior to joining Accenture, Dr. Hardoon served as Global Head of AI Enablement at Standard Chartered, where he led the bank’s enterprise-wide AI strategy, governance framework, and enablement programs across global business units, driving responsible AI adoption and large-scale transformation initiatives. Earlier, he founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Aboitiz Data Innovation (ADI), successfully growing the AI-focused venture into a multi-million-dollar business while expanding its services beyond the Aboitiz Group. He also held the position of Group Chief Data & AI Officer at UnionBank of the Philippines, where he led enterprise AI, data governance, and digital transformation programs, significantly expanding the organization’s AI capabilities.
Earlier in his distinguished career, Dr. Hardoon served as Chief Data Officer and Special Advisor (Artificial Intelligence) at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), where he spearheaded data analytics innovation and helped shape Singapore’s AI strategy for the financial sector. His leadership experience also includes senior roles at EY, SAS, and numerous advisory appointments with leading universities, government agencies, financial institutions, and technology organizations across Asia and internationally. Alongside his executive responsibilities, he continues to contribute to academia through research and advisory roles, reflecting his longstanding commitment to advancing the field of artificial intelligence.
