Jharsuguda, Odisha, India, July 2025 – Durairaj M has taken on a new leadership role as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) – Aluminium Sector at Vedanta Limited – Aluminium Business. In this strategic position, he will be responsible for driving the commercial growth agenda across Vedanta’s aluminium value chain, managing end-to-end techno-commercial operations, strategic sourcing, and supply chain initiatives that support the company’s vision of sustainable industrial transformation.
Prior to this role, Durairaj served as Chief Commercial Officer at Hindustan Zinc, another Vedanta Group company, for over three years. Based in Udaipur, he led critical techno-commercial functions and played a key role in aligning commercial strategies with production and operational excellence goals within the metals and mining sector.
Before joining Hindustan Zinc, Durairaj worked with Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) – Vedanta Limited for over 11 years, where he held several key roles, including Chief Commercial Officer and Associate General Manager. During this period, he played an instrumental role in commercial and power operations, helping establish robust systems in procurement, contracting, and energy trading for large-scale thermal power generation.
Additionally, he contributed to Vedanta Group’s corporate operations as Director – Power O&M in Group Commercial, where he oversaw the commercial performance of power assets and helped create synergies across business verticals. His cross-functional expertise in project execution and operations was further sharpened during his earlier tenure as Associate Manager at Hindustan Zinc, where he managed O&M of coal-based thermal power plants and electrical systems across multiple locations in Rajasthan.
