Hong Kong SAR, January 2026 — Ellis Y. has started a new position as Head, Organisation Development at West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, taking on a key leadership role in shaping organisation-wide people and development strategies for one of the world’s largest cultural projects.
In this role, Ellis Y. will be responsible for leading organisation development initiatives that support the Authority’s long-term vision of building a vibrant cultural quarter for Hong Kong. Her mandate includes strengthening organisational effectiveness, leadership capability, talent development frameworks, and culture transformation aligned with the Authority’s evolving operational and artistic ambitions.
Prior to this appointment, Ellis Y. spent nearly 15 years with HSBC, where she held multiple senior leadership roles across learning, talent, and development functions in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. Most recently, she served as Head of Learning and Talent Development / Head of Learning, Hong Kong, where she led enterprise-wide learning strategy and talent initiatives for one of the region’s largest financial institutions.
During her tenure at HSBC, she also served as Head of Learning and Talent Development, Wealth and Personal Banking, Asia-Pacific, and Head of Learning and Talent Development, Global Banking & Markets, Asia-Pacific, partnering closely with senior leaders to deliver leadership development, executive coaching, and large-scale talent transformation programmes across diverse businesses and geographies.
Earlier in her career, Ellis Y. worked with The Bank of East Asia, Limited, where she held process management leadership roles within retail banking, and began her professional journey at Hongkong Post as Assistant Manager, Industrial Engineering, building a strong foundation in process improvement and operational excellence.
