Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, April 2026 — Samir Shah has been appointed as Deputy Managing Director at HDFC ERGO General Insurance, marking a significant leadership elevation after nearly two decades with the organization.
In this expanded role, Samir Shah will support HDFC ERGO General Insurance in its next phase of growth, bringing deep expertise across finance, strategy, insurance operations, executive leadership, and business stewardship.
Samir has been associated with HDFC ERGO General Insurance for nearly 20 years. Before this elevation, he served as Executive Director, contributing to the company’s strategic direction and growth journey. Earlier, he served as Executive Director & CFO, where he was part of the executive management team and provided strategic inputs during important phases for the insurance industry.
Prior to joining HDFC ERGO General Insurance, Samir served as Chief Financial Officer at IL&FS Education and Technology Services Limited, where he built strong experience in financial leadership and business management.
Earlier in his career, he held leadership and finance roles as AVP at JM Financial & Investment Consultancy Services Limited, Manager – Finance at Atlas Copco India Limited, and Consultant at S. B. Billimoria & Co. Across these roles, he developed a strong foundation in finance, consulting, investment advisory, and corporate financial management.
