Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, June 2024 – Erinn Smeltzer has been named Director, Talent Management at Halifax Regional Municipality, starting her new role this month. Erinn brings extensive experience in talent acquisition and development, making her a valuable asset to the HR team.
Erinn has been with Halifax Regional Municipality for 1 year and 6 months. Before her current role, she served as Manager, Talent Acquisition from January 2023 to June 2024. In this role, she led the talent acquisition strategy, collaborating closely with the HR team to meet organizational hiring needs.
Prior to joining Halifax Regional Municipality, Erinn worked at Nova Scotia Health Authority for over three years. She served as Interim Director, Recruitment Services from August 2022 to December 2022 and as Manager, Recruitment Services from November 2019 to August 2022. Her responsibilities included leading recruitment efforts, managing recruitment services, and supporting organizational growth.
Before her tenure at Nova Scotia Health Authority, Erinn was the Manager, Talent Acquisition at Shannex Incorporated from October 2017 to November 2019. In this role, she managed talent acquisition processes, ensuring the organization attracted and retained top talent.
Earlier in her career, Erinn held various roles at Atlantic Credit Unions. She was a Recruitment Consultant – Projects, People Services at Nova Scotia Health Authority from June 2016 to September 2017. She also served as a Human Resources Generalist from July 2014 to June 2016, Human Resources Officer from July 2011 to July 2014, and Treasury & Payments Officer from May 2007 to June 2011. Her diverse experience at Atlantic Credit Unions included HR generalist responsibilities, recruitment projects, and treasury and payments management.
