Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, January 2026 — First Citizens India has appointed Nirupama Guruprasad as Managing Director and Head of Enterprise Operations, entrusting her with the mandate to build and scale high-performing teams that enable stronger business outcomes through customer-centric, efficient, and technology-enabled operations.
In her new role, Nirupama Guruprasad leads Enterprise Operations for First Citizens Bank in India, overseeing operational strategy and execution while strengthening governance, risk management, and operational excellence across the organization.
Prior to joining First Citizens India, Nirupama spent over nine years at Wells Fargo, where she most recently served as Managing Director and Commercial Banking Leader for India and the Philippines. In this capacity, she led teams supporting the corporate lending business across the credit lifecycle and headed Chief Administrative Office functions for Commercial Banking. Earlier at Wells Fargo, she held senior leadership roles including Head – Asset Based Lending & Leasing for India and the Philippines, CAO, India and Head – Governance, and SVP & Head – Strategic Resource Management, contributing to large-scale operational transformation and digital initiatives across a workforce of more than 25,000 employees.
Before her tenure at Wells Fargo, Nirupama held leadership roles at ICICI Bank, where she served as Joint General Manager and Deputy General Manager, focusing on project financing across thermal and renewable energy sectors, corporate technology solutions, and operational risk frameworks aligned with Basel II norms. Her earlier experience also includes consulting roles with ICICI Securities and long-standing assignments within ICICI Bank, spanning corporate banking technology, risk assessment, and governance.
Nirupama holds an MBA in Finance and Economics from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and brings nearly three decades of experience across enterprise operations, commercial banking, governance, and large-scale team leadership.
