MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA, INDIA, June 2026 — Gallagher Re has announced the appointment of Minesh Jani as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), India, reinforcing the company’s commitment to expanding its presence and strengthening its leadership position in one of the world’s fastest-growing insurance and reinsurance markets.
In his new role, Minesh will lead Gallagher Re’s India operations, oversee strategic growth initiatives, deepen client and market relationships, and further enhance the company’s capabilities across the reinsurance ecosystem. He will also work closely with insurers, reinsurers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to support the evolving risk management and capital needs of the Indian market.
Minesh brings nearly three decades of experience in reinsurance, insurance broking, risk transfer solutions, portfolio structuring, and international market development. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for developing long-term client partnerships, driving business growth, and delivering innovative reinsurance solutions across India, the Middle East, Africa, and international markets.
Prior to joining Gallagher Re, Minesh served as Managing Director at Howden Insurance Brokers Limited DIFC Branch in Dubai, where he played a key role in expanding client relationships, strengthening market engagement, and supporting strategic growth initiatives across the region.
Earlier, he served as CEO – MENA, India and Indian Subcontinent at Ed., where he led business operations across multiple markets for more than five years. During his tenure, he focused on market expansion, client development, reinsurance solutions, and strengthening the organization’s regional presence.
Before that, Minesh held the position of President – Reinsurance at ARPL, where he was responsible for portfolio structuring and placement of risks in international markets while leading reinsurance portfolio solutions for India and the Indian subcontinent.
His earlier leadership assignments include serving as President at Willis Insurance Brokers, Director – BMS India and Consultant to BMS UK, and Head – Reinsurance at ICICI Lombard, where he managed treaty and facultative reinsurance operations. He began building his reinsurance expertise with the J.B. BODA Group, where he managed reinsurance operations focused on African markets.
Over the course of his career, Minesh has developed extensive expertise in reinsurance strategy, risk transfer, capital optimization, portfolio management, treaty and facultative placements, market development, and stakeholder engagement. His deep understanding of the Indian insurance landscape, combined with his international experience, positions him strongly to lead Gallagher Re’s next phase of growth in India.
