Shanghai, China, July 2026 — Surventis has appointed Lucia Koenigsmann as Vice President Operations – Paints & Resins Asia Pacific and Managing Director, where she will lead operations across the company’s Paints & Resins business in the Asia-Pacific region while driving operational excellence, manufacturing performance, and strategic growth. Her appointment comes as Surventis continues to strengthen its global coatings and surface treatment business following its transition from BASF Coatings.
Lucia brings nearly two decades of leadership experience across manufacturing, operations, research, process engineering, and business management within the global coatings and chemicals industry. Prior to joining Surventis, she served as Vice President Operations – Paints & Resins Asia at BASF (China) Company Ltd., where she led operational strategy for the region. She also held the dual role of Vice President Operations – Paints & Resins Asia Pacific and Managing Director at BASF Coatings Technology Shanghai Co., Ltd., overseeing manufacturing operations and business leadership across the Asia-Pacific market.
Earlier, Lucia served as General Manager at BASF Shanghai Coatings Co., Ltd., where she successfully led one of BASF’s key coatings manufacturing operations in China. Before relocating to Asia, she was Site Manager at BASF Coatings GmbH in Würzburg, Germany, managing large-scale manufacturing operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
Lucia began her career with BASF, where she spent more than a decade in progressively senior technical and operational leadership roles, including Expert – Corporate Technology, Process Manager – Industrial Petrochemicals, and Team Lead – Catalysis Research. During this period, she built extensive expertise in research and development, process optimization, industrial manufacturing, technology management, and innovation, laying the foundation for her transition into global operations leadership.
With deep expertise across coatings manufacturing, chemical operations, process engineering, industrial technology, and operational transformation, Lucia has consistently delivered business growth through innovation, operational excellence, and customer-focused execution. Her appointment reinforces Surventis’ commitment to strengthening its leadership capabilities and accelerating sustainable growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
