Singapore, April 2026 — Gaurav Suman has been elevated to the role of General Manager – Artificial Intelligence, eCommerce & Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) at Mercedes-Benz Singapore, marking a significant milestone in his decade-long journey with the organization. In this role, he will lead AI-driven transformation, digital commerce, and direct-to-customer initiatives to reshape the future of automotive retail.
Prior to this elevation, Gaurav Suman served as General Manager – Artificial Intelligence and Retail Transformation, where he led initiatives to digitally transform the retail experience, enabling seamless offline-to-online customer journeys. His leadership has been instrumental in building data-driven capabilities and leveraging AI to enhance customer engagement and business outcomes.
Earlier, he held the role of General Manager – Data Analytics and Retail of the Future, where he played a key role in setting up data infrastructure, analytics platforms, and commercialization strategies through actionable insights. His work helped enable data democratization and supported next-generation retail models within the organization.
He also led SAP ERP transformation initiatives across multiple global markets, building a robust digital foundation across 15+ countries, introducing API-driven architecture, and integrating advanced technologies including AI and blockchain into enterprise systems.
Before his long tenure with Mercedes-Benz / Daimler, Gaurav Suman worked with Unilever as a Project Manager – IT Finance, leading regional transformation projects across 50+ countries. He also held consulting roles at Mindtree and earlier worked with Tata Motors, where he gained experience in manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
Gaurav Suman holds an MBA in General Management from XLRI Jamshedpur, complementing his strong expertise in digital transformation, AI, and enterprise technology.
