Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, February 2026 — Gautam Sharma has taken over as Director of Business Development (Energy & Industry) at Hilti Group, where he is responsible for driving segment strategy, market expansion, and customer-centric growth initiatives across India’s energy and industrial sectors.
In his current role at Hilti Group, Gautam leads the India-level strategy for the Energy & Industry segment, translating global priorities into local execution plans. He works closely with CXO stakeholders on complex techno-commercial engagements and has built and coached a high-performing team of business developers, strengthening value-based selling, negotiation capability, and strategic account management.
Before joining Hilti Group, Gautam spent over twelve years with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), where he held multiple leadership roles across B2B and B2C marketing. His work in market expansion, channel development, digital enablement, and branding contributed to sustained revenue growth, improved productivity metrics, and stronger market share in competitive lubricant segments. He began his BPCL journey in Assistant Manager – B2C roles, where he was recognised for sales excellence, leadership, and business innovation.
At the start of his professional career, Gautam also gained exposure to enterprise technology environments as a Software Engineer at Accenture, working on financial software systems.
