New York, United States, January 2026 — Geetanjali Gamel has taken on a new leadership role as Head of Human Resources, US Surgery at Johnson & Johnson, where she will lead the people strategy, organisational design, leadership development, workforce transformation and culture agenda supporting the US Surgery business within the company’s MedTech portfolio.
In her current appointment at Johnson & Johnson, Geetanjali brings extensive experience in global HR leadership, people analytics and strategic workforce transformation. She most recently served as Head HR – Global Commercial Strategy Organization and Janssen Business Development, where she was a core member of the pharmaceutical HR leadership team and led end-to-end talent strategy across global commercial and business development functions.
Earlier at Johnson & Johnson, she served as Head of Global Workforce Analytics, where she built enterprise-wide people data science platforms, employee listening systems and predictive workforce intelligence solutions.
Prior to J&J, Geetanjali was Global Head of Workforce Analytics and Planning at Merck, leading analytics teams across more than 80 markets and delivering advanced workforce planning and predictive analytics solutions.
She also held leadership roles at Mastercard, and earlier served as an Economist at Puget Sound Energy, Forecasting Specialist at Ameren, and Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, building deep foundations in econometrics, forecasting and strategic decision support.
Geetanjali holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
