In this new role, Gil will steer the consulting firm’s strategic growth, operational agility, and people-first vision, reinforcing West Monroe’s mission to lead at the intersection of strategy, technology, and transformation.
Gil Mermelstein has been an integral part of West Monroe’s leadership team for over a decade. Prior to this elevation, he served as President, where he played a pivotal role in defining the firm’s operational model and sharpening its go-to-market strategy. Earlier, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing firm-wide operations during a period of intense industry disruption and digital acceleration.
Before stepping into C-suite roles, Gil spent close to 12 years with West Monroe Partners, serving as Managing Partner and later Senior Managing Director. He was responsible for building the firm’s East Coast practice and significantly contributed to client growth across sectors. His impact was central to the firm’s scale-up journey and its deep integration of digital transformation into traditional consulting models.
Prior to joining West Monroe, Gil was Partner at BearingPoint, leading strategic consulting engagements across North America and Europe. He also held the position of Senior Vice President – Strategy & Business Transformation at MBNA, which later became part of Bank of America, where he was responsible for large-scale transformation initiatives. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at A.T. Kearney as Senior Manager, delivering strategic solutions in the fields of operations, financial services, and corporate performance.
Gil earned his MBA in Strategy and Corporate Finance from INSEAD, one of the world’s most prestigious business schools. His global experience, sharp strategic acumen, and people-first leadership style have made him a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues alike. With this appointment, Gil is poised to lead West Monroe into its next era of innovation, employee empowerment, and client impact.
