Perth, Western Australia, Australia, October 2025 — Centurion, one of Australia’s largest independently owned 3PL transport and logistics companies, has announced the appointment of Giles Lenz as its new Chief People Officer. This promotion recognizes his leadership in integrating people systems, safety, performance development, and health to strengthen Centurion’s workplace culture and operational excellence.
Lenz has been part of Centurion since mid-2024, most recently serving as Executive General Manager – Human Resources and Capability, where he played a pivotal role in building the company’s people strategy, driving performance systems, and enhancing workforce capability across a rapidly growing logistics network. His elevation to Chief People Officer underscores the company’s confidence in his ability to bring together all facets of human capital and organizational performance to fuel sustainable growth.
Before joining Centurion, Lenz spent nearly a decade with Hancock Prospecting, where he served as General Manager – Human Resources and later as a Human Resources Contractor. His tenure was marked by strong leadership in talent development, performance management, and workforce optimization during a period of significant expansion in Australia’s resource sector.
Earlier, he spent eight years with Roy Hill, another major player in the resources industry, holding multiple senior leadership positions, including General Manager – People & Safety, GM – Organisational Effectiveness and Improvement, and General Manager – Human Resources. Across these roles, Lenz drove cultural transformation, safety programs, and organizational change initiatives aligned with business strategy.
Prior to his work in mining, Lenz held key HR roles with Rio Tinto, where he served as General Manager – Human Resources and HR Manager – Shared Services, leading people integration and shared service optimization during a major growth phase. His earlier experience includes serving as Senior HR Business Partner at VocaLink (a Mastercard company), where he supported major organizational transitions, and as HR Manager at AstraZeneca, where he navigated integration and expansion during the Astra–Zeneca merger.
Lenz began his career with the Printing Industries Association, working across Perth and Sydney as an Employee Relations Manager, supporting industrial relations and collective agreement development. His career, spanning over three decades, reflects deep expertise in human capital management, performance leadership, and organizational transformation across multiple industries.
