Pune, Maharashtra, India, June 2025 – Giovanni Sois has started a new position as Chief Human Resources Officer at Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. As CHRO, Giovanni is leading HR strategies and operations for the PVPL business, overseeing all aspects of HR including talent acquisition and resourcing, people development and training, personnel administration, employee and industrial relations, physical security, and site administration. This marks Giovanni’s second stint with Piaggio India, where he aims to transform the business and enhance organizational culture.
Previously, Giovanni served as Group Total Reward Strategy Head at Piaggio Group in Pontedera, Tuscany, Italy, where he was in charge of re-designing and executing the Total Reward Strategy for the whole Piaggio Group.
Before that, he was a Member of the Senior Management Team – In charge of HR and Organization at Piaggio Group in Pune, Maharashtra, India. In this role, he led a major HR and organization transformation program to support business growth strategy, reduced attrition rates, negotiated company contracts for blue-collar employees, and led a team of 26 HR professionals.
Giovanni also spent significant time at Ericsson Telecomunicazioni S.p.A., where he served as Human Resources Director – Opto Products Supply Division from 2009 to 2017 in Genoa and Caserta, Italy. His responsibilities included restructuring manufacturing capacity, leading due diligence HR streams, and supporting business transformation initiatives. He also held the role of Operation Manager – Opto Products Supply Division from 2006 to 2009, managing production transfer projects and designing new organizational policies.
Earlier in his career, Giovanni worked with Marconi PLC as Business Operations Director – LATAM and Iberia from 2002 to 2005 in Genoa, Liguria, Italy, and as Proposal Manager and Business Development from 2000 to 2001. He also held multiple roles with Ericsson, including Head of Technical Support in Beijing, China, and Programme Manager Eastern Europe and LATA in Horsham, United Kingdom. Additional roles at Marconi PLC included Service Know-How Transfer Manager in Stockholm, Sweden, and Field Implementation Manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
