Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, June 2026 — Grasim Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has announced the appointment of Sangeeta Tanwani as Chief Executive Officer (Designate) – Textiles Business. The appointment marks an important leadership transition for one of India’s largest textile operations as the organization strengthens its consumer-centric and brand-led growth strategy within the textiles segment.
A highly accomplished business leader with more than three decades of experience across consumer goods, retail, fashion, banking, beverages, healthcare, and marketing, Sangeeta brings a proven track record of driving business transformation, building consumer brands, scaling operations, and delivering sustainable growth across diverse markets.
In her new role, Sangeeta will lead the next phase of growth for Grasim’s textiles business, focusing on strengthening market leadership, enhancing brand relevance, accelerating innovation, and deepening customer engagement across the company’s textile and fabric portfolio.
Prior to this appointment, Sangeeta served as Chief Executive Officer of Pantaloons and OWND at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL), a position she has held since 2018. During her tenure, she played a significant role in strengthening one of India’s most recognized fashion retail brands, driving business growth, customer engagement, brand transformation, and operational excellence across the retail network.
Before joining ABFRL, Sangeeta spent seven years with Kellogg Company as Managing Director – India and South Asia, where she led the company’s business operations across the region. Under her leadership, Kellogg strengthened its market presence, expanded product portfolios, and accelerated growth across key consumer segments in India and South Asia.
Earlier, she served as Vice President – Commercial Beverages, India and South-West Asia at Coca-Cola India, leading commercial strategy and business operations across one of the company’s most strategically important markets. Her experience in building consumer brands and driving commercial performance contributed significantly to business growth and market expansion.
Prior to Coca-Cola, Sangeeta spent more than five years with HSBC Middle East, serving as Chief Marketing Officer, where she led marketing strategy, customer acquisition, brand development, and customer engagement initiatives across the region.
Earlier in her career, she spent over seven years with Hindustan Lever Limited (now Hindustan Unilever Limited), progressing through several brand and marketing leadership positions, including Marketing Manager – Skin Care. During this period, she developed extensive expertise in brand building, consumer insights, product strategy, and market development for some of India’s leading consumer brands.
She began her professional journey with Novartis, where she spent seven years in product management and marketing leadership roles, building a strong foundation in consumer marketing, commercial strategy, and business management.
Throughout her distinguished career, Sangeeta has built a reputation for combining strategic vision with strong execution capabilities, successfully leading large-scale businesses, driving consumer-centric transformation, and building high-performing teams. Her diverse leadership experience across consumer goods, retail, healthcare, financial services, and fashion positions her uniquely to lead Grasim’s textiles business into its next phase of growth.
