Ravi Ranjan currently serves as Managing Director at State Bank of India, where he is responsible for strengthening the bank’s strategic direction across domestic and global markets. His appointment reflects SBI’s confidence in his deep institutional knowledge and leadership capability built over a distinguished career within the organisation.

He also held the role of Deputy Managing Director – Corporate Accounts Group, managing key corporate relationships and large-ticket lending portfolios that play a pivotal role in SBI’s corporate banking leadership.

Earlier, Ravi Ranjan was Chief General Manager, Chennai Circle, leading one of SBI’s most significant regional circles, where he drove business growth, retail expansion, and operational excellence across Tamil Nadu.

He further served as President and Chief Operating Officer at SBI Capital Markets, India’s premier investment banking arm, where he also functioned as Whole-Time Director and Nominee Director at SBI Securities, contributing to capital markets strategy, structured finance, and investment banking operations.

A major part of his career has been with State Bank of India, where he served as General Manager – Retail & Digital Banking, DGM & Special Secretary to the SBI Chairman, DGM & Head – Equity, AGM – Private Equity, and Vice President & Head – Syndications & Investments at SBI Hong Kong, managing multi-billion-dollar loan and fixed-income portfolios and leading cross-border syndications. He also held senior corporate banking leadership roles and progressed through multiple positions over nearly two decades within SBI.
