Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, May 2025 — Hariharan Veeramuthu has been appointed as the Global Chief Information Officer at VA TECH WABAG LTD., a leading pure-play water technology multinational. In his new role, Hariharan is responsible for driving the company’s IT strategy, global digital transformation, infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity, and stakeholder alignment across its global operations.

Before joining WABAG, Hariharan served as Director of IT at Gulf Asia Engineering and Projects Private Limited, where he played a pivotal role in shaping digital initiatives across RP Group’s Offshore Business Center in Chennai. He successfully implemented large-scale IT and business transformations, formed strategic partnerships, and drove operational efficiency through advanced technologies.

Previously, Hariharan held the role of Associate Vice President – Enterprise Automations & Head of IT-Applications at Maveric Systems Limited, where he developed IT strategy roadmaps, led enterprise automation projects using RPA and low-code platforms, and spearheaded numerous business-critical implementations such as HRMS, payroll, and inventory systems.

Earlier, he spent over five years at Ericsson, progressing from Head of GCC India CoE – Business Services to Strategic Product Manager – Digital Transformation & IT. During his time there, he led global IT initiatives, deployed AI tools, and architected target IT landscapes across multiple domains including HR, real estate, and supply chain.

With a technology career spanning more than two decades, Hariharan also contributed to global organizations such as Dell, Tesco, iTWINE Technologies, and Purdue Pharma, holding leadership roles in IT strategy, digital architecture, and systems development. His strong expertise in IT-enabled business transformation, change management, and cross-functional leadership positions him well to steer WABAG’s technology roadmap as it scales its global operations and sustainability-driven solutions.

He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership.
