Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India, July 2026 — Harman Finochem Ltd. has appointed Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sahu as Head, Research & Development (R&D), strengthening its research leadership as the company continues to expand its global Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) portfolio and drive innovation in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
In his new role, Dr. Sahu will lead the company’s Research & Development function, overseeing formulation research, product development, process innovation, technology transfer, cross-functional collaboration, and R&D initiatives that support Harman Finochem’s long-term growth and global pharmaceutical strategy.
Prior to joining Harman Finochem Ltd., Dr. Sahu served as General Manager – Head, Formulation & Development (F&D) at Medley Pharmaceuticals Ltd., where he led formulation development with a specialization in pellet-based products. He managed the complete product development lifecycle, led multidisciplinary R&D teams, oversaw packaging development, budget planning, product portfolio selection, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration across regulatory affairs, quality, production, marketing, and sales. He also played a key role in product strategy, technical discussions with suppliers and customers, and reporting product development progress to senior management.
Earlier, Dr. Sahu spent eight years with Alkem Laboratories Ltd. as Team Leader, where he managed formulation development projects, prepared product development strategies, coordinated with packaging development and regulatory teams, reviewed analytical data, supervised technology transfer documentation, supported dossier submissions, led technical discussions with international stakeholders, and guided formulation scientists across multiple development programs.
Before Alkem, he worked with Astron Research Ltd., Ahmedabad as Senior Research Officer – Formulation Development, contributing to formulation research and product development activities.
He began his pharmaceutical R&D career with Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Glenmark Generics Limited, serving as Senior Research Officer, where he gained extensive experience in formulation development and pharmaceutical research.
With nearly two decades of experience across pharmaceutical formulation development, product development, R&D leadership, technology transfer, regulatory support, packaging development, quality systems, and cross-functional project management, Dr. Sahu brings deep scientific and operational expertise to his new leadership role.
