Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, July 2026 — K2 Learning Resources India Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Colonel Swarnendu Roy as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), bringing on board a distinguished leader with extensive experience in strategic leadership, organizational transformation, supply chain management, talent development, and large-scale operational excellence gained through an accomplished career in the Indian Army and the United Nations.
In his new role, Colonel Roy will lead K2 Learning’s operational strategy, organizational growth, execution excellence, technology adoption, and capability-building initiatives as the education group continues to expand its impact across India’s education and career development ecosystem.
Prior to joining K2 Learning, Colonel Roy served as Faculty Commander & Head of Faculty at the Military College of Materials Management, one of the Indian Army’s premier institutions for logistics and materials management. In this role, he led faculty development, officer capability building, curriculum modernization, and institutional transformation while integrating artificial intelligence, supply chain resilience, robotics, drones, virtual reality, and emerging technologies into leadership development programs. He also designed competency frameworks, performance dashboards, learning pathways, and assessment systems to prepare future military logistics leaders for increasingly complex operational environments.
Earlier, he commanded one of the Indian Army’s largest logistics organizations as Head of Organization / Commandant, leading a workforce of more than 1,500 personnel responsible for managing over 20,000 metric tonnes of strategic inventory, transportation networks, procurement support, asset lifecycle management, vendor coordination, and operational readiness for multiple Army formations.
During this tenure, he successfully achieved 90% equipment availability for frontline formations through predictive maintenance and digital asset tracking, managed over 300 military transport vehicles, implemented AI-enabled analytics platforms and operational dashboards, and oversaw one of the largest military asset disposal programs in depot history. His exceptional leadership during this assignment earned him the prestigious Vishisht Seva Medal, awarded by the President of India in January 2025.
Previously, as Officer Commanding Troops & Administrative Officer, he managed HR, administration, welfare, transportation, compliance, and operational support for nearly 3,000 personnel while pioneering the deployment of SAP/ERP HCM systems that reduced administrative processing time by approximately 40% through digitized HR workflows and workforce analytics.
At Army Headquarters, Colonel Roy served as Additional Director – Personnel & Organisation, where he played a critical role in strategic HR governance, leadership selection, officer promotions, executive talent management, and institutional transformation. His responsibilities included supporting confidential promotion boards for senior military leadership and contributing to the historic officer selection process for women officers in the Indian Army. He also established the Military Secretary Branch Help Desk, improving governance, transparency, and officer experience.
Internationally, he represented India with distinction as Force Explosive Safety Officer under the United Nations Mission (MONUSCO) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In this multinational assignment, he managed ammunition safety, compliance, logistics readiness, and operational governance across contingents from more than 13 countries, earning recognition from the Force Commander for his precision, diplomacy, and collaborative leadership.
Earlier in his military career, Colonel Roy served in multiple operational, logistics, and leadership assignments over more than a decade, steadily building expertise across organizational leadership, logistics, operational planning, HR management, governance, and technology transformation.
Alongside his extensive operational experience, Colonel Roy continues to strengthen his business leadership credentials. He is currently pursuing the PGP MAX programme at the Indian School of Business (ISB) and has completed an Executive Post Graduate Certification in Supply Chain Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi.
