Helen Scalise Appointed as Head of People at Andium

New York, New York, United States, December 2024 – Helen Scalise has joined Andium as the new Head of People, where she will oversee People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and all aspects of the employee lifecycle. Helen will also drive the implementation of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to support organizational alignment and efficiency at Andium.

Helen previously served as Head of People at S44 Energy, where she led the People Function across the U.S. and Europe, managing People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development. During her tenure, Helen oversaw a 100% growth in the workforce, implemented EOS company-wide, and introduced a global salary framework and career development matrix, among other impactful initiatives.

Earlier, Helen worked as Director of Capacity Building at the NYC Department of Education, where she led comprehensive training and development for over 2,100 staff, successfully managing large-scale events and pivoting learning programs to virtual formats amidst the pandemic. Her efforts enhanced employee engagement and program effectiveness.

Helen also held the position of Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement, where she developed a Google-based early warning data tool for NYC’s 257 Community Schools. Her leadership in results-driven programs contributed to significant improvements in chronic absenteeism and stakeholder engagement.

At All Hands Raised, Helen spearheaded data-driven leadership programs that reduced biased discipline referrals and improved financial aid services in schools. Additionally, as an Organizational Development Consultant, she partnered with diverse organizations across the globe to enhance operational efficiency and leadership strategies.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
