Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 2026 – Al-Futtaim has announced the appointment of Hesham Ikhwan as HR Director – Automotive & Retail, expanding his leadership scope across two of the group’s key business divisions. In this role, Hesham will focus on strengthening collaboration across businesses, driving talent development, and enabling more integrated and effective ways of working.
As Al-Futtaim continues to evolve its diverse portfolio, this appointment reflects the organization’s commitment to building cohesive teams, enhancing organizational capability, and supporting long-term business growth through strong people practices.
Prior to this expanded role, Hesham Ikhwan served as HR Director – Retail at Al-Futtaim, where he led people strategy for the retail division, focusing on talent, culture, and organizational effectiveness.
Earlier, he held the position of Director of Talent Management, Learning & Development, where he drove leadership development initiatives and strengthened capability-building frameworks across the organization. He also served as Head of Learning & Development – Automotive Division, playing a key role in building talent pipelines and enhancing workforce capabilities within the automotive business.
Before joining Al-Futtaim, Hesham worked with Gallup as Head of Client Service – Europe and Senior Engagement Manager, where he led large-scale client engagements focused on organizational performance, employee engagement, and leadership effectiveness across global markets.
He began his career with roles at Landmark, QL, PCHL, and Plymouth Mills, gaining experience across business development, sales, and operations, building a well-rounded foundation in business and people leadership.
Hesham holds an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School, equipping him with strong strategic and leadership capabilities.
