HSBC Bolsters Ultra High Net Worth Business in Asia with Strategic Appointments

In a significant move to enhance its Global Private Banking business and establish itself as the leading international wealth manager in Asia, HSBC has announced a series of key appointments aimed at strengthening its services for ultra high net worth (UHNW) clients in the region.

Kerri Lim has been appointed as the Head of Ultra High Net Worth Segment for Asia, with her role taking effect on 11 March 2024. Lim, based in Singapore, will lead the UHNW growth strategy across Asia. Her focus will be on working closely with frontline teams to deliver tailor-made wealth products, platforms, and solutions to meet the sophisticated needs of UHNW clients. She will directly report to Caroline Kitidis, Global Head UHNW Segment, and Lavanya Chari, Global Head of Investments and Wealth Solutions.

Pritash Mathur takes on the role of Head of Family Office Coverage for Global India/Global South Asia (GSA), also based in Singapore. Mathur’s responsibilities include overseeing the UHNW growth strategy for Global India/GSA, coordinating with Market Heads in India, Asia, MENA, and Europe, and leveraging collaboration partners to harness HSBC’s full capabilities.

The bank has also strengthened its UHNW coverage in Asia with the appointments of Edith Wong as Head of UHNW Segment, North Asia, and Sam Wong as UHNW Segment Development Manager, Asia, both of whom report to Kerri Lim.

These appointments reflect HSBC’s commitment to addressing the unique challenges and fulfilling the ambitions of UHNW clients through expert advice and bespoke services. Caroline Kitidis, Global Head of UHNW Segment, emphasized the goal of nurturing long-lasting and rewarding client relationships in this underserved market.

Lok Yim, Regional Head of Global Private Banking, Asia Pacific, highlighted the comprehensive banking experience offered by HSBC, facilitated by strong collaboration across its diverse lines of business. He expressed his enthusiasm for the new team’s role in capturing growth opportunities in Asia, praising their deep understanding of client needs, market acumen, and expertise in investment, wealth, and legacy planning.
