BEDFORD, Mass., UK — iRobot Corp., a pioneer in consumer robotics, announced the appointment of Gary Cohen as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Cohen, a seasoned executive with over 25 years in leadership roles at major global consumer products companies, is set to lead iRobot through a pivotal phase focusing on profitability and operational efficiency.
Gary Cohen brings a distinguished career characterized by successful turnarounds and significant profit growth across several industries, including his recent role as CEO at Qualitor Automotive, where he doubled sales and profits. His earlier tenures at Timex and Energizer, as well as Playtex and Gillette, have seen him lead substantial growth initiatives, including developing new products and expanding global sales.
Andrew Miller, chairman of the board at iRobot, expressed his confidence in Cohen’s appointment, stating, “iRobot has made significant progress toward its operational restructuring plan to position the company for the future, and we are excited to welcome Gary to the team as the business enters its next chapter. He will also join iRobot’s board of directors following the annual shareholder meeting on May 23, 2024. Former interim CEO Glen Weinstein will assist in the transition over the next 60 days.
