Gurugram, Haryana, India, May 2026 — Niva Bupa Health Insurance has promoted Ishwar Dutt Sharma to Executive Vice President (EVP) & Head – Talent Academy, recognizing his contribution to talent development, leadership growth, distribution capability building, and organizational learning. In his expanded role, he will continue leading initiatives focused on strengthening workforce capabilities, nurturing future leaders, building sales-ready talent, and advancing a culture of continuous learning across the organization.
Ishwar has been associated with Niva Bupa Health Insurance for over six years and has held several leadership roles across sales, distribution, talent development, and capability-building functions. Prior to this elevation, he served as Head Sales Academy and Distribution Initiatives, where he led programs focused on capacity building, talent nurturing, innovation, training and development, and distribution transformation. He has also held roles including National Head, Senior Vice President & Zonal Head, and Vice President & Zonal Head, contributing to business growth, sales capability, team development, and strategic initiatives.
Before joining Niva Bupa Health Insurance, Ishwar spent nearly 12 years with Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Ltd., where he held multiple leadership roles including Associate Vice President – Retail Agency Sales, National Head – Digital Offices, National Sales Head – NCD Plans, and regional leadership roles across Mumbai, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jaipur, and Gurgaon. He played a key role in enabling low-cost distribution models, expanding health insurance reach in Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities, building agency business, and strengthening sales teams across markets.
Earlier in his career, Ishwar worked with Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Royal Sundaram General Insurance Co. Limited, building deep experience across insurance sales, relationship management, agency development, distribution strategy, and team leadership. With strong expertise across health insurance, sales academy leadership, learning and development, strategic initiatives, and talent transformation, Ishwar Dutt Sharma is well-positioned to support Niva Bupa’s employee development agenda and long-term business growth.
