Muscat, Masqaţ, Oman, November 2025 — Issa Al Aufi has taken on a new strategic leadership role as Chief People & Corporate Affairs Officer at General Electric & Trading CO. L.L.C (GENETCO). In this position, he will lead the company’s people strategy, oversee HR and administrative operations, and strengthen corporate affairs and external engagement to support GENETCO’s diversified business ambitions across the Sultanate of Oman.
Before joining GENETCO, Issa Al Aufi served as Chief People Officer at Renaissance Services for nearly three years, where he led organisational people strategy, leadership development and talent initiatives that strengthened workforce capability across the company. His work contributed to building a resilient HR foundation for one of Oman’s well-known services organisations.
Prior to this, he held the role of Senior Human Resources Leader at ahlibank, where he contributed to strengthening HR frameworks and supporting people operations across the institution. This built upon his extensive experience of over seven years at Oman Refreshment Company (SAOG), where he was elevated to Chief Human Capital Officer. During this period, he played an integral leadership role in developing, reviewing and delivering strategic plans, driving performance management, compensation, benefits, and HR systems, while contributing as a core member of the organisation’s senior leadership team.
Earlier, he worked in progressively senior roles at Saraya Bandar Jissah, Oman Airports Management Company, and Oxy, where he led employee relations, HR operations, HR systems, performance management, employee engagement, Omanization initiatives, and compensation and benefits programmes. These experiences strengthened his expertise in organisational processes, HR operational management, and employee lifecycle excellence across large and complex workforce environments.
Issa Al Aufi began his career as Accountant at Petroleum Development Oman, and later worked across HR generalist, compensation, systems and training roles with Oxy, developing a strong foundation in policy administration, onboarding processes, HRMS updates, performance management, payroll execution, vendor management and talent processes. These early experiences shaped his deep understanding of HR operations and organisational systems. He holds an MBA from Sultan Qaboos University, further strengthening his business and leadership credentials.
