Air India appoints Jayraj S. as the new Head of Global Airport Operations, based out of Gurgaon. This pivotal role marks Jayraj’s return to the workforce after a brief retirement and underscores his readiness to lead amid the ongoing transformation of the airline, an iconic brand in the industry.
“I am thrilled to share that I have joined the team at Air India, stepping into Head of Global Airport Operations, based in Gurgaon,” Jayraj S. stated. “This role not only marks my return to work after a self-imposed retirement, but also the privilege of playing a pivotal role in the transformation of this iconic brand.”
Jayraj brings over 35 years of rich experience across various facets of airline operations. Prior to joining Air India, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Bangalore International Airport Ltd from August 2020 to November 2023, where he was instrumental in enhancing operational efficiencies and customer service. Before that, he held the position of Senior Vice President for Customer Experience & Operations at the same organization, beginning in February 2020. His tenure at Jet Airways as Executive Vice President of Products & Services and Chief Commercial Officer from July 2016 to November 2019 saw him overseeing numerous operational departments, significantly contributing to the airline’s service quality improvements.
Earlier roles included Vice President of Doha Hub, Ground Services at Qatar Airways, where he managed a large team to service millions of passengers annually, and leadership positions at Maxis in Kuala Lumpur, and Aircel in Gurgaon, focusing on customer service innovations.
In his new role, Jayraj is committed to leveraging his extensive experience to “drive excellence and innovation in our operations across the globe” and looks forward to “contributing to Air India Limited’s success and helping elevate our service standards to new heights.”
