Tampa, Florida, United States, November 2025 — JoAnn Brown has begun a new chapter in her distinguished career as Human Resources Manager at Allied Trust Insurance Company. With more than three decades of experience in designing, leading, and transforming human capital functions across high-growth organizations, she brings deep capability in HR strategy, workforce operations, compliance, culture building, talent acquisition, and compensation transformation. In her new role, she will support enterprise-level people strategy and strengthen HR processes aligned with operational excellence and organizational growth.
Before joining Allied Trust Insurance Company, JoAnn Brown served as Chief People Officer (Department of One) at Lilypad, where she played an instrumental role following Lilypad’s acquisition of Centauri. During her tenure, she partnered closely with the executive team, led enterprise-wide HR strategy across 17 states, and drove organizational culture alignment, leadership development, benefits restructuring, and HR technology transformation. She achieved meaningful business outcomes, including a 20% reduction in benefits cost while preserving comprehensive employee coverage—strengthening attraction, retention, and engagement.
Prior to that, she served at Centauri Insurance for nearly six years, progressing into the role of Assistant Vice President, Human Resources. There, she managed complex HR operations—overseeing workforce planning, talent acquisition, compliance, payroll, employee experience, and performance management. She also supported executive and legal teams in conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and high-impact employee programs that boosted workforce agility and organizational capability during critical phases of growth and leadership transition.
Earlier, she spent over 16 years at Johnson Smith Company in key leadership roles, including Director of Human Resources, Fulfillment and Operations. Managing more than 300 seasonal and full-time employees, she played a pivotal role in building performance systems, implementing payroll automation, launching major benefits programs, and creating infrastructure for employee culture, safety compliance, workforce engagement, and operational efficiency.
Before that, she held leadership positions with Global Signal, Computer Sciences Corporation, Flowers Baking Company, and Home Insurance Company, contributing to organizational capability, talent development, workforce planning, and HR process expansion. She began her career at Laser Precision, gaining early foundational expertise in HR operations, employee support, and HR administration.
JoAnn holds an Associate of Applied Science in Retail Business Management from Mohawk Valley Community College and is currently completing her Bachelor of General Studies in Human Resources from Southern New Hampshire University. She is recognized with professional accreditations including SPHR, SHRM-CP, and specialty certifications in People Analytics, Total Rewards, Inclusive Workplace Culture, and HR Department of One. She is also a Florida Notary Public.
